He had two injury recovery cycles at the end of the previous season. Not much recovery there because it was just after surgery. During the offseason, he did bounce back a bit in some of the raw ratings (health, durability, stamina, arm strengh, Velocity). He will only recover the skill ratings (effectiveness, control, pitch grades, etc.) with time on the mound during the season.

That last paragraph is very valuable. It's good to hear that he will/can bounce back during the season after the injury. Good to know.

Nope, I never noticed someone getting points back the season after a player was injured. Learn something new everyday!

Yeah, you'll see guys well past "normal development" age pick up points... barring re-injury, of course.

Depending on the severity of the injury, it can even be the season following his return, too.
