Sure, if you don't mind getting killed defensively by the guy.

Of course, you could always trade him to an AL team, which can then make optimal use of him as a DH, and you can get player(s) back of whom you can also make optimal use.

(That may be too long for miket, so someone may have to look up "optimal" for him. Maybe schedule will do it for you, after you both wipe each other's lipstick off your buttcheeks.)

Plus, you'll get that annoying email from your FI.

I think as long as they're not getting flagged in that, you're golden.

I suspect that much like putting 18-year-olds who aren't ready at AAA will stunt their development, putting a guy who can't possibly handle the defensive assignment will hinder his development, too.

Because he's out of his depth.

Why don't you put your new draft picks in AAA? Better coaching = better development, no??

STFU.

No, I don't put my draft picks in AAA because you need to PROMOTE players properly to get the most out of them. Has nothing to do with what they're capable of doing. If a player is 3 years away, he's not spending all of them in AAA.

A defensive player getting 6 opportunities is a defensive player getting 6 opportunities. If you believe that's the difference maker in fielding development, you'd do well to surround your stud SS with the worst fielders possible so he could get 8-9 chances because the others can't make a play. And you damn sure don't want your pitchers striking batters out.

STFU, dumb canuck.

FWIW, here's how I think it works:

An inning in the field is an inning in the field. Doesn't matter what position. And, since DH seem to fatigue at the same pace as position players, I wouldn't be surprised if DH get the same fielding development.
