al, even if you had 383 teams in one world, ... i still wouldnt suspect you of cheating. you are beyond reproach.

I do not enjoy recruiting for more then one team in a given world but I will help out other coaches if I am asked (Providence in Phelan this year as indians is at basic until the 18th). I always view each team as its own seperate entity and recruit not only as if it were my own team but also as if it was my only team.

Thanks, dave. That's very nice!

I did have a funny episode recently. I had two different coaches recruiting for my Rupp teams in October. I didn't tell them about my alias and they ended up battling for the same player. LOL

is this leading to one of those logic problems where there is one guy who always tells the truth and one guy who always lies and soon after I read the problem my head starts to hurt?

i think ORs issue is a more interesting one, more interesting than multiple teams in 1 world in different divisions. how about 2 teams in the same division? i've had multiple d2 teams, and i figure d3 would be even less of an advantage... well in d2, i just don't see it there. there is little competition, i don't know any market, nor do i pay attention to what anybody else is doing. so im not sure it would help me even if they were close, not to mention, across the country.

anyway, how about multiple d1 teams. could you elaborate a bit OR? i am very curious, as i just dropped my d3 team in favor of a california d1 team (assuming i get the job, low prestige, so likely). i figured there was no non-negligible advantage to it, as california is so far from kentucky. i understand knowing the market there, i tend to watch the teams after the top players in my area in case they over extend themselves, etc... but i don't think either team would have any overlap in their market. i'm not even sure any team in kentuckys market would get involved with a team in californias market. so what difference would it make?

Yeah gil I am interested too, although I do think I get where he is going with it and it is a solid point. I do follow the entire nation during recruiting anyway, regardless of how many or few schools I would be recruiting for.

Silence during recruiting seems the way to go.

But I do miss the banter from a long long time ago. I remember once when a fellow Pac-10 school and I both showed up being considered by a couple of prospects in eastern Canada. We both fired off sickly sweet sitemails, "You have him", "No, please, he's yours", "No thank you, you should take him". Now the silence is deafening.

LOL. This past season Us (Syracuse), Mich St. and another high prestige school all showed up on a SF from Canada on the 1st cycle. ......and apparently didnt spend another nickel on him after that.

The problem is I couldn't shake him off my consideration list, even after telling him i was gonna RS him. I had 2 schollies and already had 2 other recruits locked up. But this bimbo made me look like I was in a 3 way dogfight. I almost emailed the other 2 coaches asking them to PLEASE spend some money on the guy!!!!

He ended up signing with Mich St the day after signings. Im not sure colorblind ever spend another dime on him.

Ha.....I personally feel that saying that is ok, you just have to do it via the coaches corner, so it is public to everyone.

18" of snow today

here is why I think it is an advantage and / or conflict to have multiple teams in the same division:

1 - at bargain shopping time, when I look national, and I find someone, who do I give the recruit to?

2 - before recruiting, when I look for the guys I will recruit local, I get a feel for what is available, I then do the same process over again, it is like taking an alegebra test on the same subject, the second test would be easier as result of the first one (reason we take practice tests for getting into grad school)

3 - no saying anyone would do it, but gil, if you took a team d-, but built them into a b+ prestige team in california, and had kentucky with your 2nd id, what is going to prevent the ucla coach from saying you are colluding with yourself to harm ucla and help kentucky, every time you go for a local recruit vs him, even if you were innocent, he would have a point, especially if kentucky and ucla were the top two teams in that world

fair play should be anything that is not covered in the rules.
