hmmm...
im going to throw something out there and it may sound like i am saying you guys (the ones who utilize the 3 offenses differently) dont know what you are saying..... thats not what im saying!
but i want you to just play along for a minute and ask yourself if this is accurate:
coachjoehas a fair knowledge of real life hoops and different offenses, plus he has picked up some stuff here. he has opinions.
So, he goes into battle with these opinions. maybe one opinion is that you really need good bigmen passers in flex. and he has good success suing that strategy. we all define succes a bit diffferently, but lets assume coachjoe, while fairly satisfied with his success is, in actuality, only moderately successful. Lets say .600 winning percentage a few final fours, but rarely wins an NC. Wins his share of confernce titles and CTs. So, he is way above average, but he is no Doc Gillespie. So, he just goes right on assuming that his thoughts are fairly accurate. but are they really? is it possible that his initial ideas are actually not valid in HD and are actually holding him back? maybe you dont need passing bigmen at all with flex and he has been wasting practice minutes all these years. is that possible?
are you coachjoe?
