That's fair enough, I just wish I'd known I was paying for a limited version of the game in the first place.

As it stands the promo is a full season for $4.95, but if I or any new player want to see the game as it's supposed to be played it's really $17.90 for two seasons. Still cheaper obviously, but not what was advertised.

Just needs a disclaimer before you've paid in my opinion, rather than a justifiable disappointment after..

Actually, quite a few services and the like do offer a limited price limited features version of their content with certain things ;locked' until you get a 'full membership', so its not like its something unprecedented.

do you pay for there limited versions though? I think thats the huge difference.

SOmetimes you do, yes. Multiple levels of membership, so to speak. Based on how much you pay. Not uncommon.

Not uncommon for a product that has a stable customer base to support different pricing models, which WIS does not fall under.

Agreed.

It just doesn't matter very much if you're not going to be sticking around to coach those recruits. And if you're going to be sticking around to coach them, then buying the 2nd season shouldn't be a burden.

I do get the point about wanting to know beforehand though, and I guess that's legt.

You don't need FSS at D-III anyway (it's prohibitively expensive unless you're in a good conference with a bunch of recruiting money). I never used it there and didn't have a problem signing decent guys, you just use scouting trips.

Most D-IIIs are scarcely populated anyway, so it's not like FSS gives you a big advantage.

Easier to say that when you probably have 1 million reward points to buy seasons with ;-)

i disagree, i feel using FSS vs not in d3 is an unovercomeable advantage. i wouldn't even consider signing a guy without knowing his potential, except in rare cases which are out of the scope of this discussion. i would be surprised if you could build a team without FSS that was better than a 5% dog against a team i built with FSS. its that important!

If you end up with extra recruiting money at the end of a period, spend it during the season before it gets 'taxed' down to 25%. Pre-tax dollars are nice to spend on FSS.

they're doing these people a favor, FSS money at d3 is just wasted

Unless you are in a sparsely populated state, you are using valuable cash at D3 for something that tells you that at best your guy is going to have average potential in his core stats. Not even a feature that a promo coach can understand and utilize to its fullest anyway since the recruits are so average. I can understand the poster's quandry, but it's a good feature to withhold for the collusional reasons stated and the costloss factor of it at D3 from the get go.
