YOu will also get to recruit. At least in mine it set me to having five seasons. I think we're going to do playing, testing, stretchign the limits of the engine, some test recruiting. . all of it. This isn't quite going to be like normal seasons.

Ya I suppose if the point is to test things out rather than try to compete as much as in other worlds that makes sense. I was just looking at top teams though and they had people recruit, seems odd that even though I had a human coach last year I had AI recruiting.

Has there been any kind of announcing of the types of things to test, like specific changes or how to give feedback? Or is this kind of like just play and see what happens with stuff

The idea of beta testing is not to win, sure someone will end up doing so but the idea is to work out every bug you can find, any loop hole, pages that don't work, settings that might produce weird results what have you and report them so that the engine can be as good as possible, we finally have what we have all asked for in a big beta test and WIS user input and help, lets take advantage of this opportunity do our best to help seble and WIS out.

I was all excited thinking I was special for being picked...

Seble said that once the games are set up and the like he'll be posting some stuff to look for. But yout goal here is to try as hard as you can to break the engine and see what happens. Try to elicit flaws do they can be fixed.

I had a nice recruiting class at Oregon st. this should be fun to see whats up for the newbs!
12/29/2009 7:37 PM
I should have applied if they were picking everyone. Could have got a lot of things that are not working properly out to the right people and maybe they'd do something bout it. Oh well. GL finding stuff.

Well, you have any specific suggestions to test? We can take requests.

I'm pumped that I got a D1 team...I'm going to try a stupid all guard lineup or something i think.....

I would try and test the diminishing returns to start. I did this a while ago, but they have slowed down/adjusted sense then. Try 40/40 in IQ for a little and see how much faster it goes up, and see if skills drop off. My last experience was that it shot up way to fast and there was no drop off, but that was when potential as a whole was shooting up to fast.

I would also test IQ - mainy in zone. It seems like this set you can run at F and have great results. With press and m2m it seems fine, but press/zone combo even seems out of whack with the results.

With the changes to player developement I would compare the high pot reb guards and high pot per bigs and see if there are really more. I'd also test and see if these per rated bigs can really make an impact. Right now, it don't seem like bigs can really hit outside shots.

One more for now would be to focus in on ast/to. I feel like they are off when it comes to the results. Passing bigs don't make the impact they should, and there isn't much of a drop off between guards with 30 bh/pass and 80 when it comes to stats. Stats could be purely cosmetic, but it gets annoying always seeing 3.something ast to 2.0 TO rating on all my guards regardless of there ratings.

I have a few Perimeter shooting guys I am going to try at PF just to see what happens, that is deefinitely on my mind. And I have a guard I inherited with an overage of low post as well.

12/29/2009 8:28 PM
A, in the new engine LP is going to matter for guards.
12/29/2009 8:29 PM
Yup.

That is why I am interested to see what happens. Its a guy I inherited when I picked up the team, and I'm interested to see what will happen now that his low post actually means something.

I want to test and see how slow it takes a 99 rating to fall with 0 practice time, I also want to pump a lot of time into a category that is a 1 and see how much it can be approved.

I like the lots of time in IQ to see the speed of improvement as well.

I just want to make sure before posting serious updates, full disclosure from coaches is expected right? There is no need to be keeping the things we do quiet?
