Yes, I signed a 51 in one of my worlds because I miscalculated how much it would cost to get a "good" one. All of my players progressed. Not as much as I would normally expect(they were 1-2 points off in a couple of categories) but they did improve.

The sky really isn't falling if you get a 50 FI.

i can't wait until the 80+ FI's all retire and nobody remembers how to field anymore.

I could. But, if you say that and no one contradicts it, the plagues of HBD will say "Yeah, it's going to be a nightmare. WifS needs to do something!!!!!"

I get that those are ugly hits to Glove and Accuracy ratings, but it still hard to tell how much that will really impact performance. They're only going to touch the ball a few times per game because of their position. So far, both players have made less errors than last season. Neither were going to be Gold Glovers, anyway. I don't think it will impact you as much as you fear it will but I guess there's still half a season for them to regress more.

No one seems to remember S1-S3 of their world when 71 was a fantastic fielding coach and there still wasn't 9 errors in every game.

That's what a few people want to happen. I hope, when/if WifS does, that they also add a bunch of really good players so everyone can have an All-Star at every position.

Yeah anyone with a FI coach that has a 7 FI IQ is just working way too hard to ruin their team. Even with the minimum you can find something waaay better. This is pretty much tanking but done in just an awful way since tanking is suppose to benefit your team long term

i really don't care what they do...i find coach hiring to be a boring part of the game and i try to take care of it with as little attention as possible.

the FI situation requires a bit more attention...not too much to be a huge hassle, but if they make it go away i won't complain.

I think what you're seeing is reasonable.

The coach doesn't believe in using a glove. Hasn't worked out so well.

I take it you haven't read the y 2B thread. Take some time to read it, then imagine uncleal as the fielding coach. You'll have an idea of what kind of damage a lunatic fielding coach could do.
