low contact projected stats/results? Topic

If you put the ball on the ground, there is more of a chance your guy will get on base. An error, hit, fielders choice. A strikeout is just that, unless you get the oh so often strikeout/wild pitch. I would bat him bottom of the line-up as well.

If you have a decent 8 hitter who can get on base occasionally, and the pitcher's spot bunts him to second, he'll also have a number of opportunities with a man on second. Strikeouts are not very productive in that scenario.

tec why do have to argue every single post? It's been established this guy is not good enough to hit leadoff and probably not good enough to even be in the lineup. You are saying if, if, if but you miss the point that even IF we are still talking about this guy, he is not going to be asked to moved guys over any other way than by laying down a bunt, which happens to be his best skill. So, IF you want this guy to move a runner over, yes, he can do it. Leadoffs hitter are not asked to drive in runs, it just happens when the leadoff hitter is one of the best, but how many teams actually have a run producing leadoff hitter?

i haven't had much time to look at the pbp's but how often to the good bunters actually bunt for singles vs. sacrifices in this game? i've largely not paid much attention to it but should i be for the right player?
