Wow, thanks...I've literally been adjusting my PP and right to account for these asst. coach emails. What a very misleading process in the game, wow.

You can argue it does matter, and yeah it might. The info is prolly a little more important at lower levels... I guess.

The fact is your pp's should be fairly diversified just based on your players growth that you see (or don't see) and using that information you can see if that 20 minutes in rebounding is worth it or not. As my players growth starts to slow i move practice minutes to the non-core areas, so if you read them whatever but at this point in the game by the time your guys are juniors you are already going to have a handful of minutes in most practice categories anyway, since it would be wasting minutes in the 'capped' categories. You can basically set your PP based on the pre-season message from your AC and not have to worry about it until the next year. I liked it more when i had to change it and it was an actual strategy. I hope seble can bring that back and give the coaches more say in the development of their players.

And while we are on this subject I do prefer a soft cap as opposed to a hard cap for potential but I don't think we will ever see that. In a way you could argue that the hard cap now, kind of acts like a soft cap but I would prefer the growth be somewhat dependant on a coach and what he wants to do and not 100% dependant on who you recruit and what FSS says.

Well said, thank you

they matter but only at the margin, if you began with a good understanding of your guy's potential

I think they matter more than that. They allow you to cut back minutes in categories where they are no longer producing results - often able to cut back to zero mins and shift elsewhere. I dont think the effects are big, but I think they matter enough to be worth five minutes a day

That sounds like a really good idea to me. Im gonna have to do that next season.

Although as a rookie, I'm glad to have the help of an assistant coach, just once I'd like to have him tell me what he thinks they ought to be doing instead of what he is suggesting they don't do.

I'm not sure if that is more annoying than the emails from my trainer...

Coach, I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you, but our best efforts couldn't save Birk. He died last night. I've always wanted to say that! Seriously, it's strained calf muscle. He's at about 90% right now.

Sometimes zhawks likes to oversimplify things. Almost to the point of being misleading.

To imply these assistant emails are worthless is misleading.

I don't believe so. I think my record shows that, while I have basically ignored these messages.

Just because YOU choose to basically ignore these message does not mean that every user would be better off doing the same. Maybe you compensate for this with your overall game planning superiority.

I don't ignore these message. I could also say my record speaks for itself, but typing something that vain makes my fingers bleed.

I didn't say everyone should ignore them. Colonels asked about them and I explained what I did with them and what I believed. I did not type "Everyone just delete these messages without looking at them" - That would be telling everyone to ignore them.
