You cant call because the recruit is an international. Its why I didnt factor it into the equation. Also, the scholarship only costs 100.00...rahter than get a potential mixed message the scholarship does the trick in one shot. If he rejects it, there is no way (atleast in my experience but truthfully its been awhile since Ive recruited below DI) he will consider you, if he doesnt reject it you will be a secondary option later in the process.

Call the coach, get the back-up message or not. MMT, don't tell me you've been wasting 90 bucks offering a schollie to find out the same info a coach call will give you?

LOL...that was the secret to my West Florida teams. I dont think Ive been in DII since 2008 or early part of 2009, which is why I threw that disclaimer out there in the first place. I don't think though I ever used the call coach since I was never that interested in what O/D the guy played coming in. If I ever play DII again you've now saved me $90.00 per recruit!

I meant call the coach.

Apparently I'm wrong about it being too expesive for him. Never done it, always thought there were better or equal options for cheaper in the continental.

Very good investigative work my friend....I would start him at PG but like you said, I too think he's out of reach.

When you guys say evals what exactly are you talking about, scouting evaluations?
2/9/2010 5:16 PM
Yeah, that is how you pull a player down. If this guy gives you the back up option the only way to sign him is with 10-20 evals, which would be to costly.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what an "eval" is...can you clarify please?

Scouting trip

Ahhh, thank you...I've never done one lol.

It is the only way to recruit. Long ago everyone did it and the old Admin fixed it. This caused phone/coach calls etc to not have a limit. Pretty much you could spam the hell out and around 2000 dollars worth of these calls and such the player is considering you. This was also fixed, and then shortly after the eval method came back. Everyone is doing it again and recruiting is a draft again. Send out calls, find x amount of players who give you the back up option, hit him with 10 evals. If hes still undecided do 5 more and so on until he considers you. This will usually be the 8pm or 11pm cycle of when recruiting started. Offer a 'ship and check back in at 5 pm when signings happen.

I never though I'd want to willingly play div I, but div II recruiting is just to easy now. I took over the crappiest program I could find and have took them to 3 championship games in just a couple of season. We are the "#1 dynasty" at this point. Once again, I'll "draft" my team and be done with recruiting before day 1 ends. Nobody wants to pull down a guy who is not undecided because of the cost, so its just a race of who can pull who down the fastest.

Eh, wasn't that difficult. Unless I overlooked someone, he was the only 540 rated D1 international I saw.
