Most people understand the concept of an introductory offer.

Speaking from a general software development perspective, rolling out a beta for user feedback is not beginning of the test process, it is the last phase of the test process.

Agreed the idea is to get people addicted. The exact price could be up to WIS even $30 would be fine. Something tho.

how did the games go????
2/13/2010 9:22 AM
there were 3 games simmed on Wednesday but there is still additonal work needed to compile the stats from game results to player/team totals.

those games were scrapped and seble hopes to run another batch of games once the coding is completed (maybe in the next few days).

Major things we will be looking at include:

Fouls -- the number of fouls on average should be in the same ballpark but certain mismatches (player and team) may generate more fouls than before

Rate of Improvement -- player rate of improvement has been slowed down and this coupled with the revised recruit generation should allow for more coach controlled player growth

Fatigue -- there will be a completely new fatigue system

Play by Play -- there will be a completely new PBP in place but it will still contain all essentials from the old one including doubleteam references

The goal is to release the new engine in time for March Madness. Fox will do heavy promoting and a lot of new coaches are expected to join at that time.

We have not seen anything yet so we can't tell you anymore than what I posted.

THEY REALLY NEED TO ADJUST "TEMPO" SETTINGS OF THE GAME. MAKE IT TO WHERE IT'S LIKE REAL LIFE!!!!! THAT IN MY OPIONION IS THE NUMBER 1 THING THAT I DONT LIKE ABOUT HD.

-Tempo is confussing to alot of veteran coaches. Imagine how confussing it would be to all the rookie/new customers playing HD.

Jag, this was discussed in the beta forum and this was seble's response:

Quote post by seble on 1/20/2010 9:42:00 AM:
Possession times will be a little different than the old engine. I'll have to think about how that might impact performance. I don't really buy into one team's tempo affecting the other. Certain defenses (like a press) could speed up a slow-down team though.

Based on info from the past admin and other computer programmers, a main reason why tempo is instituted differently then you'd expect in HD is in part due to the complexity of doing it the other way.

I remember reading this post and thinking to myself, although that is the way things normally work, it is not the way WIS does things. If you look over at the test site, you will see for sure that it has not been pre-tested. It is clearly the FIRST phase of the test process.

The community better prey this engine doens't get rolled out any time soon. There are just too many basic glitches we are still finding.

Like merlin said, I wouldn't really call this a Beta test ....more like an Alpha test.

They have bugs like players getting 2 FT after 8 fouls instead of 1 and 1. How could that part of the programming have gotten screwed up?
