Billyg, wasn't the NCAA seriously considering giving the wildcats the death penalty during the Sutton years? And coach Cal doesn't exactly have a clean record either. And who did coach Cal look to for advice when his team was struggling this year?

For real? Last I checked Coach Cal's salary is 2X Ben Howland's. The UK practice facility is a 30 million dollar facility. UCLA isn't even the talk of their own state-Lakers, USC football all overshawdow UCLA. As for the weather, you can keep the mudslides, earthquakes and forest fires.

I would like to have played Kansas, given the way we have played this weekend. Not so sure I would have at the beginning. I guess Xavier might have wanted to rethink his decision.

Given the way the really talented ones leave early, I think this is the what college basketball has become. The Northern Iowas, Murray States etc will start to have more success in the tournament. The NCAA brand is weakened, star coaches and historical programs but the kids have become a revolving door.

I would MUCH rather coach a successful college basketball team than a successful NBA team. Less of a grind, more power, and more notoriety.

The best college jobs are Kentucky, Kansas, and UNC.

Next rung on the ladder is UCLA, Indiana, and Louisville.

Its tough to put Duke there. They are my favorite squad but Coach K IS Duke. Its tough to guage the desirability of that job.

And gillispie is right. A championship is a championship. I dont care who my squad beats as long as it wins the whole thing.

Diehard UK Fan here, and yeah I believe after 8 to 10 seasons at Kentucky and after winning some National Titles, John Calipari will coach in the NBA again. Kentucky Basketball is one of the Great Coaching jobs in all of Sports (4 different coaches have won Championships and Calipari will be the 5th, very few teams college or professional can match that). Over the last several years Calipari has started to develop a lot of signifcant relationships with several high profile NBA players (Lebron James being one of those), at some point Calipari is going to want and try to prove himself at that level. The first time he took over a horrible Nets team, this time he will go to a Franchise that has star players.

you really think Cal can go 8-10 years under the NCAA radar?
