Also depends on distance. If either of the other schools are 200+ away, that makes a real difference.

He's got six schollies ... if one of the other schools is short on funds due to either not having many schollies or being in battles, I don't see why he couldn't take a shot. The only caveat would be that this player should be clearly better than the other options you'd be considering. If he's not, then it's not worth it. If he is and you think you have a realistic shot, I might go for it.

Odds are most of the guys he's signing are 0/1 stars that don't require a battle. As long as that's the case .. .he's gotta spend his $100K somewhere.

I didn't promise a start or any minutes. Should I redshirt? LOL.

Could list what his potential was in each category?

Well as the program that got beat out I don't feel so bad anymore. I'm glad he will fill a need for you, I had him past the 3:00 am "word on the street" today. So much for early considering credit. But after you unloaded the brinks truck at his house I was toast. Wasn't even on his 8:00 am considering. My only consolation.......I only had $8,112 in him.

Congrats! He's a handy player, but unless his potential is great, I'm not sure I'd drop nearly seventy grand on him even at a D. Not to knock your guy at all, just looking at it pragmaticly.

Thanks for the kind words Graham. I think the early credit may have been muted because I was scouting every cycle all along, even when I wasn't being considered. Anderson was way better than the other point guard I signed to be his backup. Besides, we both know that if you had wanted Anderson bad enough, you could have signed him despite my brinks truck approach. After reading some of the earlier comments in this thread, I didn't think he would even talk to me after you were able to get him to consider you.

I had a bunch of no stars and 1 star guys to go with him, so I had lots of cash to give it a try.

*Doomey, you can't hurt my feelings on this signing. I run a fastbreak/full court press and average improvement over the next 4 seasons should earn 90+ ratings in stamina, speed, ball handling, and passing when he is a senior. I may never take him off the floor. LOL. Hopefully, I can make a #1 seed nervous in Naismith 47 when I have enough talent to win my conference tourney

Oh I admire the approach. I have thought about going "all in" on one good prospect. Unfortunately for my rebuilding at Memphis I have too many needs and these 5 ship classes don't come around often enough. I actually live in KY and follow all the programs in the state. Both Western and Murray have a great following. I rooted for Murray this year in their win over Vandy. Murray has great facilities from which to build a program. Memphis is the closet I have ever been able to get in the game to home. I am looking forward to recruiting areas that I have at least been too.
