you could set a minimum of seasons played by a player to 15 or something. that would also narrow it down a little bit as not many players are retired already with 15 seasons under their belts. by 15 seasons i mean actually played in 15 seasons so the world must be older than 15...15 is an arbitrary number but an example to start with.

I would assume that a player must first make his own world's HOF before becoming eligible for the All-World HOF???

Cool idea and I agree this should be a minimum requirement.

I would agree with that as well. That should be the bare minimum.

Induction into a player's "home" World HOF would seem to weed out some of the fringe candidates.

For what it's worth I think this is a good idea, but I also believe WIS is actually considering doing a *real* all-world HOF. At least they were when they first sat down to design the current HOF.

I disagree, if he isnt in his own HOF he is not a fringe candidate for the all world HOF. He is like the guy who gets one vote when he comes up for the HOF from the home town writer.

I think we are arguing the same point. I agree a player must be in his World's HOF for All Worlds HOF consideration.

You said that not being in the HOF would eliminate a firnge candidate. I am saying that not being in your HOF makes you less than a fringe candidate.

So in order to do this, I think someone needs to compile and keep up to date a list (with links) of all players in all Hall of Fames, similar to the Career Leaders thread...

It doesn't matter what you think or how you interpreted what was originally stated. You are both saying the same thing. The guy would not make the all-world HOF. End of story.
