#2 is the better defender right now, with a higher makeup and health, and they are the same age.

Projections are not an exact science and based on all that I'd expect - with the same coaches, playing time, etc. - that #2 would end up the better defender as well.

He's also the better hitter now, and I'd expect him to be the better hitter when he is fully developed.

Both are studs, but I'll take the (expected, to me) better glove and better bat of #2 over #1.

I take #2 for the same reasons as Brent, but wouldn't go as far as to value #2's defense higher, it's probably close to a wash.

Also, underrated tidbit: with #2's patience, he's a much better bet to re-sign a 2nd LT deal. This will be of value since he's probably going to be a quality player through age 35 or 36.
