Well according to you, all of these 1 game instances aren't valid enough to have a complaint, thus I guess we'll just have to all sit on our hands and wait for it to happen again before we try to contact seble...right?

There is a difference between your moronic "one-game instance" where a player commits a couple fouls in two minutes, and a meaningful, potentially flawed instance where, say, a superior team commits 40 or 50 fouls (for example).

Once again: Your failure to be able to distinguish between the two is mind boggling.

You said that one game is "literally meaningless" in this thread...you can't have it both ways. I wasn't necessarily griping about my star C getting in foul trouble early, I raised the point to see what ratings affected the propensity to foul, and its you DALTER, that look for the negative and make something out of my post(s) that was never meant to be made.

FWIW, who's to say that the early foul trouble isn't an off shoot of the 40-50 foul deal? Just because you say it doesn't matter, doesn't mean it doesn't matter...you don't work for WIS.

It's not dumbly random. You need to understand that a one-time occurrence is literally meaningless. You need to understand that what you should be searching for is patterns. Why you don't get this, I have no idea. The best defensive player in the world could still pick up two fouls in two minutes -- the issue is whether this happens with regularity, or is just a one-off occurence.

Def, sp, ath, bl and iq are the areas that impact defense. (And sta indirectly because obviously if a guy is tired, he'll be more prone to defensive lapses, fouls, etc.)

for reference

THe forty or fifty foul game sets up a possible flag for something to watch for. IF you don't see it happen that much more, then its a freak occurrence. If it starts repeating itself, then you worry about it. THe problem seems to be that you have NO filter. If its odd or unusual in ANY WAY then its Armageddon and general quarters for you.

OK ... I did a quick look at the NCAA stats for the 2009-2010 season with respect to defensive fouls (per team, per game).

Total Teams: 347

Teams with >= 20.0 Fouls/Game for an Avg: 72

%>=20.0 Fouls/Game: 21%

Avg Fouls/Game: 18.7

Max Team Avg: 24.2 (Kansas State)

Max Fouls, 1 Team, 1 Game: 45 (Seattle)

Max Fouls, Both Teams, 1 Game: 78 (Seattle Vs Washington)

There were more than 100 games where one team committed 31 or more fouls in the game (the site only showed the top 100 for that category and there were 31 games showing where one team committed 31 fouls, so it could be more than 100 games.

=======================
More stats for the 2009-2010 season:

Max Free throws one game, one team: 67 (Marshall) (OT game)
Max Free throws one game, one team: 61 (Washington) (Non-OT game)

At least 100 games with one team taking at least 44 Free Throws.
