How do Pulldowns work exactly? Topic

I've recruited 5 times in div II under the new engine - 1 team is still recruiting. I have not really noticed any change. My prestige has ranged from A to C-. The guys I could get before I can still get. Got a 550 overall guy/ranked guys on my C- team. Was able to get a 545ish rated guard with something like 50 ath/speed, 40-50 in per/bh/passing and 60 in def. He had high pot in all 3 of his cores, average in rest. At least nothing has changed for me with the way I recruit. Same players, still easy.
If this was in Rupp, I don't think it was in the places I scouted...  I have noticed a complete lack of SG qualities - speed, per, bh (when potential is factored) in recruits.  Some might have 2 ouf the 3, but not all 3.  I run a very easy initial search for SG's - 40 SP, 40 PER, 30 BH generally - and there was not much acceptable to start with from there even.  Put it this way, I haven't been able to duplicate my PG I just graduated 100 SP, 90 BH, 90 PAS, 65 PER in recruiting for about 3 seasons now.  Nothing close.

Even good post recruits with high potential in ath and reb are starting in the 40's for ath and 50's for rebounding it seems (meaning a much lower ceiling).

Maybe I just didn't scout the right places....

I been able to get a 128 guard to consider me. of course he signed with the div 1 school. In this case, hes nothing special (avg in everything other then per.) My 2 guards I'll sign with  a C prestige will turn out to be better then him. Its no surprise you could get him. Nothing has changed that suddenly allowed you to get him to consider you.
Yeah...I never said he was anything special.  I said I had not been able to get below 160 at SG before (4 yr player.  Jrs are a different story entirely), ratings or other wise.   And that has since changed... whether it relates to the new engine or not, I can't say.    BTW, I was also outright rejected on the No. 183 PF who was like 80 miles away from me.  So perhaps "rankings" are playing less and less of a role of who you can pull down.
It has always been like that. I got shot down to unranked guys before and could sign 150 SF, 128 SG  etc. You just need to send out enough phone calls. Nothing has changed for most people. I always sent out like 50+ calls and always got a lot of calls back from differently ranked players. If you only send out a few, then this might be a surprise that suddenly higher ranked guys are willing to listen to you. It doesn't have anything to do with being patient though. If they are open from the start, they are open the whole time. If they would not be open from the start, being patient and waiting 2 days will not make them open up.

Guards and centers have always been weird ones. At times I can get highly rated guys and have the 199th shoot me down. I have never really understand it, but thats why you need to really open up and expand out call wise to find out who is going to be open to you. Just because the 170th shoots you down doesn't mean its hopeless to call the 165th.

I didn't have an issue at all. I found 4 real quality guards with C+ and C- prestige teams, so I'm sure higher ones shouldn't have had an issue. I only scouted 4 states on each team as well, so didn't look to far.

Ath/speed/bh/passing/def all high. He should be a beast if his WE don't hold him down.

Another guard, but his def is questionable. Edit - oops, he has high potential in ath/speed/bh/passing and average in per/ft shooting/def.

Those are 2 already signed, the other 2 are not signed yet, but they are even better.
