Are you dense? You're not even 2 posts into this and your argument already comes down to non-sequitur questions aimed at diverting attention away from the fact that you either misread my post or didn't even read it? What part of a logical argument would dictate that I have defend making lopsided deals with n00bs if you can't even show me that I even said that in the first place? I repeat, quote the part of my post where I said I offer lopsided deals to n00bs. It is beyond reason that you would even want to continue an argument when you have no idea what you're arguing against.

Great, now just quote the part of my post where I said I make stupid, lopsided offers to vets and we'll be getting somwhere.

Then obviously you failed to read the first two paragraphs, which both explained why the deal may not have been trade rape at all and why statistics and overall rating shouldn't be the guide in determining when a trade is overly lopsided. Looking back on just one of your teams, I see you have dealt a 52 overall player for a 67 overall player (season 8). Trade rape? Care to comment?

And actually, having not looked at the rest of their ratings before posting that (just looking at their overall ratings to prove a point), that actually happened to BE trade rape. Funny...

I don't give a flying F what you said in the first two paragraphs.    It's this that I take exception with:

That said, sometimes owners do propose deals like this because other owners are willing to do them. I've proposed similar deals to guys with dozens of seasons of experience and had them accept for reasons that are beyond me; it's just called getting the better end of a deal. As your other owner said, can't hurt to try...

Did you really dig thru my previous trades in an attempt to find a "Why did you do this?"   But, to answer your question, no, I don't care to attempt to figure out the logic behind a deal I made almost 2 full, real-life years ago.

But, at first glance, I'd say the fact that I took on 3m in extra salary probably had something to do with it.

"..and had them accept for reasons that are beyond me". Umm. That seems to say you through out awful deals and was surprised anyone would accept? Accept your horrible deals. Goody for you bro.

Well I don't give a flying F what happened in the rest of Citizen Kane, because judging by the sled in the last scene it was a Cool Runnings-esque snow sports extravaganza! Unfortunately, most people actually care about things like context, and I'd say devoting 2/3 of my post to explaining why a beneficial deal for one owner is probably not actually trade rape should mitigate the following paragraph about how I sometimes propose deals that are beneficial to me and happen to have OVR discrepancies to experienced owners.

And yes, I went through one past team that you had, clicked on about 2 trades, and found a deal that appeared to be rape. I like how your defense is that you made the deal 2 years ago, so it now no longer counts as you trading a useless AA-caliber player for a solid ML reliever, and probably was just a straight salary dump (something I've also seen you rail against).

I guess you missed the part where the guy I traded had about a 1.00 WHIP for me.    That's pretty useful to me.   Unfortunately, only a few teams I have can afford to carry a 40-50 inning pitcher.

Nonetheless, my deal in 2008 has nothing to do with your "accepted" practice of throwing **** deals against the wall and hoping one sticks.

My 2 cents here.  Mateo (I'm assuming he's the high A SS) isn't that great of player but it does look like he might have a decent glove, although at 23 he might not quite get to be a good MLB SS.  He's in his 3rd season of High A.  he's 23.  The other owner may have just assumed he had stalled for you and a trade might help you both.  Sheeesh, he make a suggestion you said no.  No harm done...and it doesn't look like it was gong to cost you  that much down the line.  I'm a relative newby, too...but part of the growing process is learning to say no or yes to these kind of deals.  You might have counter offered and said that you would trade mateo (if he was the guy) for a particular player of his.  Let him sweat it.
