Sorry guys, I'm off today so I didn't check things until later this morning.  Everything should be ok now and I'll watch the 2pm cycle to make sure it runs.
I have a ticket pending regarding the players drafted and really weird prestige bumps in Allen.
7/7/2010 12:53 PM
oh haha, I just sent one.
7/7/2010 12:55 PM
I'm already aware of that issue, and I'll have it fixed later today once I can get the correct data restored.

That's what I was looking for - communication.  Thanks, seble - I'm annoyed about the problems, but when you keep us informed, you get a lot more happyish customers.

I'm just hoping he's too busy working on it right now and that's why he can't talk to us. I would rather have an explanation though if it meant delaying the fixed product by 10 or 15 minutes.
Exactly. Writing a quick explanation would take two minutes, would keep us informed, let us know that he is engaged and really cares about what's going on.

I've been trying to impress upon him how far communication like this goes. He doesn't get it.
It probably doesn't help that when he does post something, he gets ****** on from 17 different directions.

Dalt we should know by now that WIS cares nothing about Customer Service. Doesn't matter how many times they say different their Actions (or here lackthereof) speak a hundred times louder then words.

Sad thing is WIS is going to die out eventually and much of the blame can be put on the poor Customer Service.

Why in the world are you still playing these games.

You obviously hate them.

You would feel much better if you did something you enjoyed with your time.

Actually, I think zhawks is now playing 'Righteous Crusader Dynasty'. He seems to be stuck in DIII at it, though.

Fair point -- but it's a process. People don't hear from him forever, and there's a lot of pent-up aggression.

If he made semi-regular visits here, it would go a loooong way. (And I'm not suggesting the forums should soak up all of his time ... 5-10 mins every other day would do wonders and be a minimal commitment. Quite honestly, it's absolutely mind-boggling to me that someone in his position wouldn't do that, it's so obvious.)

I'm trying to think of another game on the 'net where the players have that kind of access to the developer, and failing.
7/8/2010 11:49 AM
I couldn't name another game on the net, so I definitely can't help you there.

But the set-up here so obviously lends itself to some participation from seble, and the fact that a 5-10 minute commitment every couple days would do wonders ... it would be crazy for him not to do it; whether other internet game forum admins do the same or not, I could care less.

I'm not talking about forum admins, I'm talking about game developers. There is a rather huge difference.

And I'm saying your expectations are really, really out of whack.

But anton, this is WIS' fault. Their programmers basically have the customer service job for their games as well because they're too cheap to pay for proper CS people or what have you. WIS has created this culture; there's no go between...thus since seble is the main HD CS guy, he should be responding somewhat frequently, regardless of whether or not he's the programmer, because CS is in his job description. Whether seble likes it or not, he's the face of HD.

My expectation that he might take 5-10 mins every couple of days when we are sorely in need of commuication for a game that we've been serving as de facto beta testers on?

I mean, seriously, how "really, really" out-of-whack can it be to expect 5-10 minutes every couple days? You're acting as though I'm asking for the world, when in reality, it's very minimal. Honestly, for what we've all been subjected to, it's really the least they can do.
