Well, I've been winning some games this season using a zone D, but I don't think I've got quite enough to win against the very good team.
This is in part because I force very very few turnovers. So, if one of my scorers is off, the team can't cover by picking up easy baskets. Likewise, if one of an opponent's scorers is on, we don't force the turnovers to keep the number of shots down.
I was hoping to help compensate against the very good teams by playing a Press/Zone combo, to maybe give me a better shot. I'm looking more towards next season when my best guys will have another year under their belts (and some will be seniors), but I wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving IQ development "on the table" by waiting to implement the press/zone instead of using it in games now against the weaker teams that I should beat anyway.
