I guess i should have worded it differently. You dont want to take a d3 coach with no success or something similar. But at the same time letting a sim run a big time program into the ground is not good either. There needs to be a better way. Im quiting d1 due to the crappy hiring process. Its left me so bitter that I havent even really looked at my team. Im not a great coach but I have got to be better then a sim. Or a coach that just went to the final four but has never been to the nt before that. sorry for the rant guys.
Brian, the hiring criteria isn't "is he better than a sim?" I'm quite sure that you are, lol.
I have no problem with maintaining a certain standard for BCS schools. I'm also not worried about a BCS program being run into the ground. There is always going to be someone who wants to pick up a BCS program and will rebulid it. In my book, the real issue is the low and mid teams that get run into the ground without realistic hopes of getting rescued.
(And again, this isn't a defense of the jobs process as a whole, simply a statement that maintaining a minimum threshold for BCS jobs is a good and necessary thing.)
