Ok , i see that RPI is important, but  my team is kinda bad ATM. I need to build the team so in need better recruits showing up. So does the RPI or wins make the players available to my teams recruiting next season ..

Prestige can improve without making a post season tournament so wins is what I'd focus on.  Wins will also improve Home Court Advantage, not RPI.  And the thought on that is this:  With a better HCA, a 3-point home loss that you would have had otherwise might turn into a win that you wouldn't have had.  And that improves HCA more and prestige due to a win that you wouldn't have had....

be careful if your team is 'kinda bad'.  it is sometimes hard to guess what teams will be easy wins next year.  You can ruin your season quickly if you aren't careful, especially in d1
