I'm no expert and I am not familiar with the newer versions of IE, but when had problems like this before I usually found the problem was with blocking cookies I didn't want blocked. I'd go to internet options> privacy> sites. There it lists all the cookies on you 'puter and if they are allowed or blocked. I don't think the normal disk cleaning clears all of these. If I couldn't find the one I was looking for I'd just clear the whole lot, then open the advanced privacy setting and tell it to "prompt" for all third part cookies. It means you will get a "privacy alert" the first time a site tries to place a cookie on your system and you will have to tell it "allow" or "block" (one time). It's a pain in the arse but it always cleared my opening problems. Having said all that, I found about a year ago that Firefox is a much better, easier, faster, and efficient browser than IE. Clearing specific cookies, cache, deleting files, and much more stuff is a lot more simple and there are many very helpful add ons. You should try it. Hope you get it fixed, being stuck with the cubs must be horrible.
