Is there an online database with player lists for each company?
No there is not.  I did a ton of research on this with Colin about three years ago, and it wasn't that hard to find who was wearing what.  I even tested it back then and I was able to build teams with all four options that I found to be competitive.  If everyone decided to do this league I would be happy to help in the auditing process.
Someone, maybe it was me, actually posted a link to a list in that years BOWIS. It had all the major companies and players for each one. I'm sorry I can't remember the website but I distinctly remember seeing it. Just thought I'd chime in, although I'm not in BOWIS.

*edit - It's all coming back to me in a blurry haze. We were chatting about shoe deals/endorsements in one of the threads in the general NBA forum and then I posted a link I found and I think that's how malone got the idea for the shoe league. I remember thinking "Why does Yao Ming wear Reeboks?"

Where No One Has Gone Before League - 42 Mil.

I have asked customer support to print a list of the amount of times a player has been used.  In this league, you would only be able to use player-seasons who have never been used before.  If and when the list is published, I will explain further.

I did a baseball league that was themed on the Princess Bride that was a lot of fun   As a follow up I proposed a Buckaroo Bonzai league that was roundly ignored.  I don't expect it to get a lot of votes, but I did want to propose it anyhow.

Buckaroo Bonzai is a Brain Surgeon/Nuclear Physicist/Rock Star who can do it all.  Your Buckaroo Bonzai must have a usage of 21.3+, Rebound% of 18.7+ (Def+Off) Assist% of 11.1+, Block% of .9+, Steal% of 1.5+ a Def of 53+  and 2000+ minutes or instead you can take Bonzi Wells, because his name is similar, but it must be from a season where he has 2000+ minutes.

Your lead cast after Buckaroo must consist of 4-6 players with 2000+ minutes.  You may skip any of the following, but you cannot have more than 1 of any of them.

Penny Priddy - A player with a Girl's name (first or last) [Shawn MarionQuinn Buckner?] or any monetary denomination in his name.  It can be a nick name, but that name must be listed on his http://www.basketball-reference.com/ page.  For Girls names Pat is OK, Sam is not, and any close judgment calls will be decided by vote of anybody willing to chime in on the subject within 24 hours.

New Jersey - Any Player-Season from the New Jersey Nets.

Tommy Perfect - A Player-Season where the player had a 90%+ FT%

Dr. Emilo Lizardo - A Player who went to high school and was born outside of North America with a funny name.  (Only a players’ outside North America credentials will be checked.)

Rawhide - A Player-Season from a Texas Team besides the Rockets (because it is insufficiently cowboy sounding enough.)

The rest of the team must be made up of Lectroids (any player named John) or Blue (Portland Trail) Blazers.

One of your Lead Cast (2000+ minutes) may be a Blazer and One of your Lead Cast may be a Lectroid.

Bonzi Wells can be on any team, but if he has less than 2000 minutes, he will not count as your Buckaroo Banzai.

In the unlikely event of this league being selected I will create a forum for you to post your team, and the rolls of your players.

And to be sure that it is clear your players with less than 2000 minutes must be either a Portland Trail Blazer or named John.  Jon and Johnny are also acceptable.

This sounds real interestnig appleseed.  Let us know when you get the list.  If "never" used is to limited, we could do used 5 times or less or something like that.

I really like all of nc's suggestions with one change. With the bench players being so expensive, now that the offensive pricing has been escalated, it might be a good idea to kick the no defense league up to $37 million. What do you guys think?
$32M or $37M would be fine with me.  I do hope at least one theme in this tournament has a cap less than $42M.

Will get these organized tonight.

Greatest Season Ever Theme:

Pick a season and create a team with players only from that year. I'd like 47 mil, but think it would be fun at almost any cap.

Also, why can't we just do an open league? Set it at 47 mil so bench players wont be a problem and let's see what everyone's best team looks like.

An standard open league is always one of the choices, but it will be at $42M.

How about the old 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 league?  Those are always fun.  52 Mil Cap

The following leagues are not currently under consideration.

Shoe League

There is no database to use to either build or verify teams.

Buckaroo Bonzai League

Player pool is too restricted (players named John, only Trailblazers)

no one is going to pick it at 42 mil...its boring

you need to adjust for the new salaries and maybe everyone will vote it in...this would be the best league imo...to see what everyones best squad really looks like

I will talk to Coley about it.

It has never come close since we moved that league from mandatory to one of the voting possibilities.
