jimmy, that not really a problem or a solution.   But the smart owner ranks the sure things first, the pretty close to sure things second, the marked for DITR third and the future 24th-25th men fourth.    No potential DITR slips deep into the draft because everyone would rather have a player who MIGHT be a BL player than one who WON'T be a BL player.

"Plus there already is a strategy to uncovering DITR's.  If you're not aware of it, then maybe you need to understand it a bit better rather than asking for it to be "fixed"."

Can you please sitemail me this intriguing formula?

Me too!  Me too!  Me too!  Have spent hours & hours & hours trying to figure out why the best diamond I ever had peaked at mopup reliever.  My last one was the 2nd string rookie league catcher, a decent arm with absolutely no offensive skills.  Ah, might as well put in the forums and make bunches of us happy.

Not sure what, if anything, should to be done about ditr's, but I really like Mike's idea of rewarding players, especially minor leaguer's, based on individual and team performance. What little benefit in development a guy gets for playing on a AA WS team is small reward for the effort involved. Individual awards should provide another boost.Having said all that, unfortunately, it seems pretty clear that WIS neither notices or cares what we, the paying public, think.

Teams being rewarded with DITR for performance seems silly to me. Maybe I need to let it soak in, but we always seem to want hb to reflect real life and the last I checked scouting is what finds gems.

If I were to change one thing about diamonds it would be that any prospect with splits below 50/50 shouldnt be considered diamonds.

If you want diamonds to be driven by performance then we should go with a dynamic salary cap. meaning the more you win the more your revenue the bigger your budget. Then you can spend more money on scouting. not to mention it would also help with tanking for draft pick. But that is a different post.

I have started players with less that 50/50 hitting splits.  Mostly Catchers, SS, and CF but I have done it.
