thanks for all the input and feel free to keep this thread going as I haven't made up my mind yet. There may be others looking for worlds to join as well. I am leaning towards wooden for dIII at the moment though :)
Good choice.

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is waiting for you with open arms.

And if you really are considering the MIAC, I'd recommend checking out St. Thomas (www.whatifsports.com/hd/TeamProfile/Ratings.aspx) or Concordia, Moorhead (www.whatifsports.com/hd/TeamProfile/Ratings.aspx). St. Thomas has some human recruited players on the team, and Concordia, Moorhead would allow you to start fresh with 6 scholarships available next season.

Best of luck making your decision. I have no doubt you'd enjoy any of the top D3 conferences mrpolo listed above.

Wooden DIII is the only choice for DIII.

the DIII level has turned into quite a ghost town in all worlds.  Wooden has quite a few full conferences and tons of rivalries all over.  Plus it has wronoj's Dynasty List.  Check the forum.  a killer ranking of all DIII teams. . . .  great conferences are the Midwest, Michigan, NAC, Minnesota, and Litte East

as far as DII, i know that Rupp DII had a big influx of coaches a year back (or so).  dont know if its still "hoppin" or not though.

DI is competitive everywhere.
I counted DIII Naismith at 239 human coaches, which was about 62% of the teams, if I recollect.  It's not what I would consider a ghost town, although it may have been higher in the past.  I just perused the list and noticed that Allen only has 109 openings right now, so that world is pretty well occupied, too.

d3 is good in both Wooden and Naismith... won't go wrong in either, as long as you find a decent/fun conference.

D3 naismith and D3 allen are the most full. I just joined D3 naismith and after scouting the world, I gotta say it's pretty stacked.
