No, you can choose hitters, choose no clones, then choose pitchers and choose no clones. Both settings should take, at least I think so

Admin. said they have corrected one problem.  Now you won't be able to select a clone while choosing your initial roster, or selecting from WW. The weren't specific about players and pitchers.  

One founder was pretty new and one founder had a lot of experience.  The experienced founder got very upset with me and called me out several times.  He also thought it was OK to use a B. Ruth player and pitcher.  I don't want to mention names.  It will just bring his rath back on me. And honestly I do not want to get that excited about a game.  I do believe that rules are rules ... and should be followed.  Especially clone rules.   

So I take it that this is league MLB94870 and the comish is blazinrock?  Please confirm so we can stay away from his leagues.

I think once you set it for hitters, you can change it to pitchers and it will stay set for hitters. I just tried it and it worked.

You see 'allow clones' set after you change to pitchers because that's the pitchers option.

WIS is stil ltrying to make a decision on how they are going to handle MLB94870.  A NO Clones Allowed for pitchers and players league ($255 ).  They say that there has never been a cust supp ticket sent in, on this situation.  They say they think the majority of long time owners believe and support the theory that a clone is a clone.  So if you have both NO Clones Allowed for both pitchers and players.  That a Babe Ruth pitcher and Babe Ruth player shouldn't be allowed.  The founder/commish should rule in that fashion.  blazinrocks doesn't see it that way. 

WIS is going to fix this so it can't be done in the future.

What does an MLB umpire do when they make a bad call? They rarely give in to pressure to change their call as that would be worse than actually making a bad call.
Although most everybody disagrees with the commish's ruling about the Babe Ruth clone, there is another issue here. A commish should not normally be bullied into changing their ruling. He made an unpopular ruling but at least he made a ruling and that's different than refusing to enforce rules. I'm not sure which would be worse, a bad ruling or letting others push the commish around.

Thanks rbow923, that's how I feel about it, unfortunately there was a glitch in the system to allow a Babe hitter and pitcher. What I did as a commissioner after checking all of the rosters was go along with the glitch. If you view the theme summary rules I did indeed check both of the do not allow clones tabs for pitchers and hitters. 

Since this problem has come up whatifsports.com has fixed the glitch so it will not be a problem in the future which I will admit I agree with given the reaction of many of the owners.

Although I understand rmarshall's concern, the way that he went about it to voice those concerns was rude and inappropriate. Also, rmarshall has continued to attack the owners who have both a pitcher and hitter Babe Ruth which I have asked to stop and yet it continues. This is my league and I will enforce the rules as I see fit. I especially don't need another owner bringing drama to the league by policing it for me.

blazinrocks, you have never acted or stated that you understood my position.  You cussed at me in your computor cuss, told me to shut my mouth, etc.  This all got started because one offender was in two NO Clone leagues at the same time.  With me.  The clone discussion started with both league commish's.  Neither commish responded for a few days.  So I used the chat to talk to individual owners.  They felt they had done nothing wrong.  So, I took it to WIS.  

blazinrocks , you came back from an admitted short absence and immediately started getting irate.. No discussion about understanding my position.  Just cussing and telling me to butt out of your league, and shut my mouth.  That actually fueled my concern.

I understand an umpires ruling, etc.  This isn't like balls and strikes or a missed base call.  This is Babe Ruth playing and pitching and a pretty competitive level on the same team.  And doing it two seasons in a row.  No Clones Allowed means NO Clones Allowed.  Also, everyone makes mistakes. But, blazinrocks ... you had NO respect for me or my idea.  So you don't even sound like the same guy now.    

This is just a game but a very competitive game.  I really want this clone situation straightened out so you don't have to check every roster several times per season to make sure of what's happening.  I will point out the error anytime I see it.  Hoping people will go to clone leagues to use clones and not use them in No clone leagues.

Plus, I do not like the cussing.  I think you all know what I mean.  F*@K, S##T, P&&S.  I prefer that face to face.  Can we fix this problem and call a truse ??

I'm not sure I get this...  you saw the glitch and didn't either stop the team from exploiting the glitch or inform the other owners?

I put comments in the chat area to the one owner that I knew had clones.  I than sent 2 maybe 3 sitemails to blazinrocks about the situation.  It took him about 2-3 days (6-9 games ) to respond.  He came blazing back cussing at me and telling me to shut up, keep my nose out of his business, quit harassing his owners. By than I had discovered another team with Babe Ruth clones, and mentioned that.  That furthered his ranting.  I had sent customer tickets to WIS and they are working the glitches. WIS wanted me to put a statement to the effect, that players had x amount of time to contact WIS withe their willingness to forfeit.  And also post that for the future WIS wil have corrected the glitches so it won't happen again.  I want WIS to put those notes in the league chat area and take appropriate measures for forfeits.

I hope this won't get uglier, and especially the cussing ... even though it is camouflaged.  I don't like it.  I hope we can work this out and be friendly competitors going forward.  I will still check rosters myself until I feel the glitch has been fixed.  

Blazinrock's leagues are always fun, well thought out, and tended to carefully.  I was reading the chats the whole way through.  the SIM didn't prevent the clones from happening, so neither did he.  No need to try and blackball him.  It doesn't seem like that big of a deal to still be going on about it, if anything the owners in question were clever to discover a glitch in the SIM and expose it. I 'd love to find a unique way to get some extra W's in this thing.
