I'm not sure how a team with a $8 billion payroll coming back against a team with a $9 billion payroll is so improbable ......

Let the Bostonians have their moment.  They are few and far between.

As evidenced by the fact that they're still talking about 2004.

Exactly.  Interesting how fans of teams will boast about what a great victory that is, but they would never play HBD if it was set up anything like that.

Uh, cuz it never happened before? Ever.

Duh.

Sure all the smack talk until the cubs win, then what?  The true rapture will take place on the banks of the lake?  I am really hopefull that the cubbies will sign Albert as a free agent next year.  It would be great, followed by the panic signing of Prince by St. Lou.  That would be baseball.

If HBD was like MLB 2 lucky guys or girls would have 400 million dollars budgets (*cough* Yankees & Red Sox *cough*) and the rest would start with the standard 185 except for 1. That poor sap would have an entire budget of 10 representing the Pirates.

Funny.  I think the shorter than 60 day injuries (to get semi serious) would be blister, hang nail, stiffness, broken finger, jammed finger, and then the various leg injuries that take 7 to 10 days to heal.  But yeah, even guys with low health scores shouldn't alway get a 60 + day injury.  They could be guys who end up with a variety of small injuries throughout a season.  I had my low heath ML injury this last season with a 171 day DL estimate.  For a guy who would have been a monster setup man, now will be at best a specialist, or a set up B.  If I'm lucky.

Not taking anything away from them because they were a good team. I believe the point being though that with the money they spend they are expected to be an elite team therefore its far less improbable than it may have seemed.

The health rating has little to do with the severity of the injury.   Medical budget.   A hang nail with 0 medical will be rather extensive.   20m and it's a 3 day injury.

If they were an $8 billion payroll coming back against a $1 billion payroll, I'd agree with you.

Seriously, outside of your little burg, no one cares.   It was 2004.  Move on.  Most Yankee fans got over it within a couple of days.   This is about pitcher injuries in HBD.

Well, this guy cares but has to live in Boston.   He'd be killed on sight anywhere else in the world just to make sure he doesn't breed.

Coming back from down 3-0 is impressive, no matter how many Yankee fans want to act like it's not.  I actually watched the 30 for 30 doc on the comeback over the weekend.

It's a 4 game winning streak.   Losing three beforehand to the same team is the only thing that makes it "unique".    It certainly wasn't US-USSR 1980 hockey as some people would have you believe.
