you'll be able to do it but you'll have to go to a BCS rebuild program which may not necessarily be preferable to building a strong program at a non BCS and being able to jump to a higher level BCS school in time

You can make it to a decent Big 6 gig if you NT a couple years in a row. Once you pick your midmajor, it's best to just stick there and not switch jobs until you go to a BCS conference. I've seen too many coaches go laterally for only a slightly better job and reset their loyalty when all they have to do is win their own mid major conference.

i just made the NT 4 years in a row with a S16 and a 2nd round OT loss to a team that went to the F4 with my mid major and wasn't qualified for any Big 6 jobs above B-....

so i did exactly what you just said not to do haha.

I saw that and shuddered to be honest. You probably are a solid 2-3 seasons away from being eligible for any d1 job let alone a big 6 gig. I left Alcorn State for Colorado while it was a B-, anything above that prestige is simply a bonus. You probably just cost yourself 3-4 months longer of not being in a Big 6 conference. Unless you make a couple deep (S16+) runs in the next few years. Not trying to be a dick, just being honest with you. and I mean that in the least offensive way possible.

that's fine.  if i were that anxious just to be in a big 6 conference for the hell of it then i could have done it this season.

the team i took over isn't too shabby either, and the 2 or 3 seasons i spend here will be better than the 2 or 3 seasons it would have taken me to take a trash big 6 school back to respectability.  at least i have a chance to earn some credits in the meantime

You don't mind playing nothing but SIMs after conference play and having a significantly less amount of $ per scholly? More power to you, then. In my opinion D1 midmajors are the most boring scenario in WIS until you get to NT time. Any win you have in conference is expected and every loss is extremely aggravating.

we will have 4 pretty decent teams and coaches in our conference.  how is going to a bcs program that's in the toilet any less aggravating when you win 5 or 6 games for the first couple of seasons?  by the way, the conference i'm in now was within like 2,500 in bonus money of the Big East and the SEC and the MWC which is the best non bcs conference in Phelan.

it's not your problem so there's no need for you to try and $hit on my decisions. quit being a douche.
