The C+ 12-seed is from one of the two best conferences in the world... but the 15-seed?  Beat a 2-, a 10-, and a 6-seed to get there; 13-3 in the 14th-best conference; RPI 43.  Looks like that coach is just hot at the right time.

I'm the 2 he beat, and I wanted no part of him when I saw the draw.  7 upperclassmen with all the seniors having A+ IQ off and def.  Better question is how the heck he ended up as a 15.  That team is much too good to be ranked that low

RPI 43, I have no complaints with the seeding.  He took multiple losses in a weak conference...

wasn't complaining that he got a 15, was more wondering how a team that good ended up with a season only worthy of a 15?

in d1,  1v2,5v2,12v2,1v3 so other than the upset of 12 beating 1, everything else looks reasonably normal

...hate this, though.  There are nine teams with an A+ prestige right now, mine being one of them.  Another one of them is in my conference - I swept him 2-0.  And now I'm probably going to need to beat five of the others in the NT to win the title.

Also interesting: the pairings are shaping up so I'd have to win three straight rematches from non-con to win the title.

I'm with girt on this.  The #1 that lost is in my conference, and his terrible-BH team faced an uptempo press for the first time all year.
yup, that was me.  not a good match up for us at all.  the funny thing is that despite having lousy BH/P, we somehow avoided the bad TO game all year... until then.  UAF had 7 more TOs in the first round game than in any other game the rest of the season.

my team is probably better overall, and would win 7-8 times out of 10, but we definitely got what we deserved.  if I had to play the game over again, i'd have done a couple things differently.  hats off to the Miles coach on that one.

The water finally found its level - the Final Four is, by seed, 1v4 and 4v6... but it's four A+ programs, and by RPI, it's 1v2 and 4v6.

as you said, cream rises to the top.  powerhouse final.  after that brutal tourney, whoever wins deserves it bigtime.

Using the equivalent RPI's at the beginning of the tournament,  in RL your Final Four would've been Kansas, Kentucky, Purdue, and Arizona.

I don't think anyone would really lodge a complaint that any of those last four teams (in Naismith) made it, and congrats to anadeau on the repeat NC.

Thanks corn - I'm also very appreciative that you when you compared St. Rose and Bryant, you made chovy be UNC.

Well, that was partly an overall-success thing, and partly I know you're a Dukie.

Overall success over what time frame?
9/1/2011 9:30 PM
I would say I'm disappointed I got the UNC tag as I'm a Duke fan as well.  Also, anadeau has long since passed me in Naismith just like this game has.  Either way, congrats anadeau.  Back-to-back is damn near impossible in this game nowadays.
