Seriously bluechip? 129 AB's. I had an OF who was hitting .380 after 40 games and is now hitting about .275 at 130 game in like he should be. Lets see Albaladejo's numbers after 4 full seasons and 2,000 ab's. Notice that so far everyone posted except Randall has less than 2 full seasons. There's a reason for that.

What you are not allowed to see is his projections.  He is maxed out as a player.  So, I decided to throw him to the wolves so to speak and see what happens.  I have spent a lot of time researching this exact player type and have never seen a guy this young, with this much power and that good of an eye.

When it is all said an done, I expect my guy to end up at around 25hr, 90rbi and a .240 average.  To take a quote from my favorite taco bell commercial ever... "not bad for a rookie"

Yup that would be realistic.

Great thing about these guys is they will always be cheap because their overall is so low, and they are only platooning.  You have to take the crazy streakiness of them though.  If you are in a hitters park, and have awesome dur/sta relievers where you can afford to have a platoon in RF Id take him without a second thought.

I will be sure to vistit this thread at the end of my season.

<a style="color:black;" href="http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=2878340" target="_blank">Louie Matsuzaka</a>

Is a similar player from Hamilton who has hit ok, but worse than what you would like from a platoon player at a non-premium defensive position.

Tony Chang has been my top slugger for years, last season's slump excepting.

Swirl not trying to be an *** but he also has a 33 contact which is 33 points higher than the player we were talking about at the top of the thread.

That's all well and good, but then I sign Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Chad Cook  thinking he'll slay RHP, when in fact he blows.

I started this thread.  I'm not saying guys like matthews are All-Stars, just that he's a cheap/decent (bat) COF.

I hoped he could OPS about .800 vR over the season and I wasn't that concerned about his batting average as long as he walked a bunch and bonked some homers.

After his walk-off homer in the 12th inning in today's PM game, he's OPS-ing .795 vR.  (surprisingly he's over 1.000 vL, but in only 43 AB's).  He's hit 22 HR's in 301 AB's and is slugging .495.  I'm pleased...or satisfied, take your pick.

I don't know if he will be my starting (vR) RF next year, but I'm pretty sure I'll keep him around.

But I understand that these type of guys are prone to ups and downs, his homer broke a 4/35 streak, with no extra-base hits.

You can find guys like this, and they can help.
