OK. While you are relatively inexperienced and it looks like this is your first progressive league, you have done well in the leagues you've been in.

I will give you immediate access to the league's private forum. I have already posted keepers for the Lakers, please review that and either indicate agreement or post any changes you want to make.

We are still waiting on keeper lists from 5 owners- as soon as all keeper lists are in I will finalize the available player list (a list of 1977/78 & 1978/79 rookies is already posted). The draft should start later this week or early next week. Since the Lakers had the 2nd best record in the league they will be drafting 23rd.

Please review the various threads in the league's private forum. Season 5 regular season results have been posted (playoffs are just getting underway), the league rules are there and other useful information.

The forum normally shows only topics for the last month, there is a drop down menu where you can change that to last 6 months and see history of prior season's results past drafts etc.

Any questions please feel free to site mail me.

The owner of the Buffalo Braves has just informed me, at the last minute after posting keepers, that he is not returning.

The 1977/78 & 1978/79 roster is as follows:

Keepers (6):
PG Walt Frazier
SF Bob Gross, Howard Porter
PF Paul Silas, Curtis Perry
C   Mike Green

Cut, all very marginal players, (3):
SG Johnny Neumann
C   Tom Boerwinkle, Earl Williams

Retired (3);
SG Mike Barr, Bo Howard
SF Goo Kennedy

Will Need 6 Draft Picks

As commissioner I am making draft picks for the team. So far (will update daily) I have drafted:
Charlie Criss PG

Frankly this is a rehabilitation project. Only Gross and Silas have seasons left after this one. The owner appears to have realized the team would take time to rebuild and suddenly bailed. The team had the best W/L pct in the league over the first 5 seasons and now needs to retool. Unfortunately since the team had a 53-29 record last season it will be drafting 20th. Patience will be required for this team.

The following season (1979/80 & 1980/81) will see the entry of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson into the league-the owner of the Braves may have an opportunity to draft one of these franchise-changing players as I suspect the 1977/78 & 1978/79 season will result in a pretty poor record for the Braves.

The team may also be moved to an available city that would fit in the Atlantic Division.

A rehabilitation project in an interesting league. Bird and Magic will be rookies in season 7 and I think this team will have a chance at one of them as it will be pretty poor in season 6. This league will have a remaining life of 19-20 seasons in the double season format.
