well, yeah, you know what i mean. i wasn't suggesting you were poaching or anything, i strongly considered if i was totally stupid for going for that recruit in the first place. you don't sign a guy like that with 3 openings and 1 scholarship money (although my conf mates apparently did good last year, i had 11k, which is pretty good). kline is a great player, i'd have taken him off me if i was someone else, too :) i was just hoping whoever else went for him in cycle 1 didnt realize i had cut 2 players, and figured they should probably look elsewhere. a lot of people are a bit hesitant to get into it with me, i was sort of hoping that would see me through, because i didn't have anything to back it up with :)

I did not realize you had cut 2 players, so I figured the money and to be honest with you I couldn't tell who would win if we wound up fighting it out to the end.  It was too close to call.  But you had obviously put in more than the minimum in the first cycle, so my hope was that if you'd done that with the other 2 guys who were considering you as well I'd have a slight edge.

ahhh man i cant believe u were going in with me having 3 ships of money. thats ballsy as hell. im surprised you would battle not knowing if you could win, seems like a pretty dangerous move to be honest. and not just because im the other coach, just in general. 

Well, I went after 1 and lost him when another school got on him at the same time.  I couldn't have cut someone and gone after 2 of them after I spent over 11K on the first guy.  I overspent, thinking as I mentioned that billyg had 3 scholarships worth of money.

that's why I always check out the "News" tab of the team I am deciding to battle to see how many openings he really has.

Hate it when that happens.
