I think in general it still looks at the +/- . I think it might be accepted that playing a 3-2 @ -2 is like a man 0 (or maybe it's -1, I tend to go with the -2). Sometimes if I'm playing a fast break team that scores with mostly guards but doesn't shoot many threes, I may play a 3-2 -3 or even more.
With that said if I'm playing against a 3-2 I will generally back of on threes and try to attack the basket a little more. I also very rarely shoot threes with anyone less than a 70 perimeter so I don't have many bigs shooting threes, ever. I also don't play DI, so maybe it is more common to have bigs shooting from the outside at that level?
