Thanks Mike  1 has 6 in advanced, one 14, and the other  has around 16.....I think the best thing for me to do....IF I trade, make sure I get at least a player that is in his 3rd year of ball or higher....so I can see the progression.  Maybe even go after players that have hit their ceilings so I know what I am getting.....The 0 in advance scouting is sure something to get used to......especially since I have not gone the route before.....

6 is throwing darts, 14/16 can give a somewhat reasonable projection.

It pains me to agree with Mike, but he speaks the truth. ADV scouting is for suckers. Put your thinking hats on people!

Agree with me more often, be right more often.

Not looking to to get into with you mike. You're relentless. I'm only perusing the forums because of this damn gobackintime24hours maintenance fiasco. I'm bored, miserable and tired. You know what it's like buying a "short sale" condo? God damn bank can take its sweet time approving the sale, let me tell you. In the meantime, I haven't bought a damn Christmas tree because we might be moving, my 5 yr old Penelope doesn't approve. I'm the *******. Forgive my stream of consciousness/rant. Happy holidays!

intrinsically, ADV probably has its merits, but the reason I backed out of having it on all my teams is because I noticed that every single playoff/championship team in my league(s) were at 0, so I was automatically at a budget disadvantage when it came to free agents and IFAs.  The good teams were playing with the full 185 and I was only at 170 or whatever. so it's not that ADV is stupid, it's just that it's the least important category and you're at a disadvantage relative to other teams if you have it

What pjfoster13 just said.

I go with 0.  Otherwise you're at a budget deficit compared to other owners who pay attention.  That being said, I almost never trade for someone who isn't at least a few years in, was drafted in the 1st round, or was over $10mil in the IFA market.

Look at current ratings, age/pro years and makeup.  That should be enough to judge a player by without spending money in  ADV
