I really tried to get a Schofield team to work.  Love the starting rotation of Marichal, Koufax and Gibson.  But couldn't quite fit in the offense I wanted ('69 Petrocelli, '71 Torre, etc.) under the salary cap.  I ended up dropping Marichal to load up on offense, but eventually scrapped it.  If the cap were a little higher, I would've gone with Schofield for sure.

It looks like I have the highest salary overall for my clones. Chipper needs to come through in a big way. For whatever reason, I rarely use what end up being the most popular player/team/year etc. when building my teams. Yet this year I ended up with the most used clone, the most used "Ugly" team, and the second most used player in can't catch/move. Given my track record I have no idea if this is a good omen for my teams or a bad omen for those who thought like I did. Should be fun either way.

In addition to Chipper, I also looked at Jim Wynn, Belliard, Mike Mordecai, Reggie Jackson, Mel Ott, and Davey Lopes just to name a few. I'll be interested to see how the Roush and Foxx teams do because it was hard finding pre-WWII clones who would have good enough pitching in a league like this.

Buckner is prob. A below avg. Offensive player In SIM. On the other hand he played for alot of teams over 20 years so he provides an awful lot of options. Maybe more than anyone else......toddcommish your thoughts?

I tried really hard to make a Kevin Mitchell team work starting him at 3B, DH, and in the OF, but couldn't get a rotation that I liked. Love the Tommy Davis rotation.

I had a great Tris Speaker team built, until I realized I had put in a 1920-2014 years restriction. In my defense, it was at least a month after I came up with that theme that I started to work on that roster.

Betting on 72 Sutton 86 Clemens and 89 Saberhagen to get it done for me in this league........

The team I have that I really wanted to use was Mickey Mantle.  Can't believe no one used him.  Last year I had great success in the sister theme to this using Vic Raschi.  So I liked the continuity of bringing him back via Mantle.  But, alas, I went for the pitching that came with Schofield Sr.
