Look at this guy:

I don't move stud perimeter players to the 4 or 5 because of defense and rebounding issues. I do, however, move my best perimeter player to the 3 ALL time time to take advantage of slower SF's or the 2-3 zone.

Same here. I don't often recruit bigs with usable perimeter skills, but if they are there, I use them.

This is an example of a guy I did recruit. I had no qualms about letting him take 3s once his perimeter rose to 65. I left him set at -1 for his senior season, mostly because of his high LP. But knowing what I know now, I may have bumped him up to 0 frequently, depending on match ups. His free throw shooting wasn't great, nor was he particularly good at getting to the line anyway. No real reason to limit his looks from outside, unless he's matched up against a good perimeter defender (speed & defense). I'd take this guy again in a heartbeat for any D3 triangle team.

i almost never allow my bigs to play anything but -2, but i'm also talking high d1 where every meaningful game i play, i face an opposing big with 90 ath and 90 def. sure, the speed is important in the per equation, but def is primary and ath is a still meaningful 3rd. so, even if the guy is 10 speed, his per defense is still solid, because of the 90 ath/def. meanwhile, my big might have like 45 speed and 55 bh, with his 65 per, and those ratings are still garbage relative to a 90 ath/def 10 speed. in d2/d3, i prioritize reb and def so heavily that i never really had many opportunities to take 3s with my bigs. so, not something i use - notwithstanding the conversation we just had.
