They definitely should explore something. Lose primary, then backup goes from 'Very High' to signing with another team who was 'Very Low' the cycle before. Why waste time setting up a backup option if that can happen?
Dacamel : check scholly offered. If it says yes, these team can poach. I personnaly even fear SIMS, they also make push. And if you think your effort makes you vulnerable, defend. Say you only have ap on, I think you did not do enough to get the recruit. Say the team pushes you down from an almost all-in situation, not a lot to do either. Better preferences, better prestige that is all.
All well and good zorzii, however if there with such a dramatic swing in one cycle, there should be a chance to recover. If a RL recruit was 'very high' on signing with a school but another team made an appealing late offer, wouldn't it make sense for the recruit to reach out to the first school and say 'hey, can you match this?' Wouldn't it make more sense for paying customers who are coaching in a sim as well?
Agreed. And Benis is right, some will even hide scholly offer.
Like me in beta, I tried that and it worked great. I decided to try that strategy out and poached MSU(?) by putting in all my effort (20 HV, 1 CV, Start, 25 Minutes, and a Ship) on the second cycle of the second period and got lucky. The dude had 90+ in Ath, Sp, De, Pe, BH, and Pa in DII Colorado School of Mines. I guess Ill try it soon in the real world.
