I'll add that I said what you said months ago. Knowing what you need to build a good team isn't that hard to figure out but the veterans will always have an advantage over others because they gameplan better. You can only figure that out with experience. And that's also the reason I don't fully understand the panty-wadding over 3.0. The cream will rise and it will likely be the cream that's got 124 seasons under it's belt.
It's change. Most people don't like change. I get it, I'm not a huge fan of change myself. But it will work out the same way it always does. You'll adapt or you'll move on. It was time for a change. WIS opted for the BIG change, and that's that. I don't like a LOT of the things about 3.0 but I also didn't like potential either. I adapted to potential and I'll adapt to 3.0 as well, eventually. One of the things I DO like about 3.0 is the way it mellowed the costs of scouting for Potential by opening the rest of the world back up to coaches, as that was always the biggest drawback of potential for me, personally.
I'm no longer tied by short distance to the sh*t potential recruits in my local area, randomly, year by year. It also hasn't reverted back to the really old days when I could recruit a guy in Yugoslavia for 3 phone calls and a scholoarship either. And, yes, I know, I wasn't *really* tied to sh*t potential recruits because they were close, but my options for alleviating that problem were fewer and much more cost prohibitive than they currently are. It also doesn't hurt that good or bad recruiting isn't so tied to the random factor of recruit location either.
