Wait.. how can a coach who hasn't played in 5 seasons be able to get a team during job application period..?? Wouldn't this guy be considered a new coach and have to wait until after the job change period for people who are actually coaching in the world.
Nope. If you have any history in a world, you can apply during job changes.

Move to D2, lots of top
teams available, solid locations.
Or take another team in your conference. I understand the connection you have to your original team but rebuilding can be fun as well.

You don't get a job. Its damn near an impossible situation though

Yeah, still other good teams!

For an incredibly well built team? It's better than the one you left!

I'll lose one game against Benis, have a horrible rpi and sos and end up as a lower seed.
Yeah I think you did pretty well all things considered. Taking over from a really good coach will definitely help.

I don't think you'll have a horrible RPI. You got 9 away non conf games so that's a huge boost. Then you play me at Home and I should have a solid team next season.

As long as you win the games you should win then I think you'll be just fine.

Only knows how to schedule. If he did it, scheduling that is, your rpi will be fine.

The job application is definitely quirky (and that is like the nicest way to put it).

They have stated the decision is based on three factors:

Recent success
Experience
Loyalty/Rep

You get some odd decisions when a coach who has been out of the world for awhile applies.
If all three are weighed equally (or near equal), I think what happens is that the recent success is not used and experience and loyalty/rep get an increased value, giving an "out of work" coach with tons of years of playing more credit than the system probably intends to.

I don't know if my hypothesis is right (or even close) but it's pretty undeniable that the job hiring process needs a solid review. The over/under on when that happens is "never".

With THAT being said, CS won't ever step in to help you if you forget to renew. I lost a team last season that was LOADED and coming off a NC. That stung. It is super important to make sure you renew your team because ultimately, regardless of how dumb the system is, it's YOUR (plural as in all of us users) job to fork over the cash within the clearly defined time period. If you don't follow their rules, undesirable results are possible.

No, we can apply for jobs in Worlds we have previously played in just as if we were still at a school. Just click on the link under Worlds previously Coached in.
Also, you get to recruit part two recruiting as a Coach application from the ranks of the unemployed.

End of Round 1. Time for another episode of "deep thoughts" by Coach Ward. I find it has a meditating effect on me.
