B and D. E (conference tourney) is very close.
C is maybe a little more fun for D2 and D3. At D1, it always feels a day too long.
Questions..... 1) I don't know how RS2 can be considered a day too long in ANY scenario. To me, it almost seems useless because of how short it is. You can't hardly do anything in 3 days!
2) If E is in there for conference tourney, which I think is a valid "favorite day", how is A the only letter that you didn't mention? You prefer CT over NT?
1) At D1, the last day is useless, for the most part. Everyone worth signing at D1 has signed in the first 5-6 cycles of RS2. The last day is for who gets the leftovers. Unless you’ve switched D1 jobs, and you’re looking for scraps (transfers), most D1 coaches are twiddling their thumbs at that point.
2) At D1 power conferences, absolutely. These are guys I’m competing with every year. Winning the Big 12 conference tourney the year two *other* Big 12 teams reached the NT finals is probably the highlight of my career so far. At lower levels, and with simmy filled conferences, it’s a different story.
Thing about the NT is the first 2 days are by no means “favorite days”. I kind of dread them. Upset in the first couple rounds, doesn’t matter how your season was, you’re disappointed. Getting to the sweet 16 starts to get pretty exciting, and at that point, I’d consider those among my favorite days; but of course, you don’t always get that far (unless you’re buddhagamer).
