I won a championship running Triangle/Zone at Virginia Tech, I ran it essentially the same as a man or press team, but I liked that I was able to start another big in the 2-3 if Dice rolls left me with more bigs than guards, and vice versa. Recruiting is a lot more flexible in zone, and you don't need as many players, so you do not have to take bad players to fill out your roster after you lose a dice roll. Shot blocking seems to be more effective in zone than in man.
I also think it leads to more upsets because teams are not used to playing against zone teams, so they don't know how to gameplan against it.
