There is nothing wrong with cash for a player. A player has a certain value to each team. Just like cash has value. They’re not two different categories.
Just depends on if your particular world is going for some level of realism or not (when it comes to high cash value purchases).
I like the 1.5 rule you have in Moonlight. However, if the rule isn't in place, I would guess that cash trades are fair game. Sometimes this game isn't just about learning how to budget, rate players, coach players, manage players and scout players.
Sometimes it is also about playing the game to a certain audience. Each owner needs to adapt to the World in which their team(s) reside. Based on my brief discussion with some folks in this particular World that I am in, cash is like any other asset and if I went through with the trade and people didn't like it, they can bring it up via discussion, but it most likely would not have changed anything.
