Why did people downvote posts thanking vets for their service??

Yall got problems.
How can you tell if it got down votes?
So when WIS switched over to sportshub awhile back, it will randomly sign me out from time to time. When it does that and I look at the forums not signed into my account, the downvoted posts show up as 'under default threshold'

And looks like even after my posts calling it out, that person (or people) continued to downvote other posts saying thank you for your service.

What a cowardly douchebag. Come defend yourself nerd.
I still have under default threshold on so it shows me when posts are down voted a lot. I agree, wow. Shocked someone would down vote it. Come defend yourself whoever it was.

Army 92-96. Germany (CMTC Hohenfels) and Ft.Campbell (101st Airborne Div, Air Assault)

Gene, Mlitney, and everyone else who posts after this.......Thank you for your service gentlemen (and any ladies who may have served). It's not an easy decision to serve your country but it's four+ years that I would never give back.
Ah gross Hohenfels, hated going there and Graf. Were you OPFOR or an OC there? I spent almost 3 years in Bamberg

Im at 10 1/2 years in right now. Currently a Drill Sergeant at Fort Benning.

What’s crazy is I started playing WIS/HD when I was still in high school.

Did my Basic at Ft. Benning. Sand Hill. E Co. 3/32. I remember many early morning PT runs to Harmony Church.

I see from chasing down old memories that only 1/32 is active now and they seem to be out of 10th Mountain at Fort Drum. Not even sure that 3/32 exists anymore to be honest. I feel OLD......

Believe it or not, I actually remember way back when, when you first started posting on the forums about getting ready to join the service. Glad to see you've stayed safe over the years. A Drill, huh? Good on you Indians!!

"It's all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter!".......I'm sure you've used that once or twice, ha ha!

Honestly, as a vet, I really don't want or care to know who is down voting the posts. Let 'em remain anonymous, says a lot more about them than it does anyone posting here.

The anonymity of the internet tends to make keyboard killers out of the biggest cowards....

Can't speak for all vets, of course, but I am not the one who deserves Thanks. The families who had to deal with deployments deserve Thanks. They sacrificed as much as anyone.

Most especially, those brave souls who never made it home alive are the TRUE heroes. They gave their lives so that anonymous idiots had the freedom, amongst other things, to down vote posts on an HD forum.

I’m on Sand Hill right now myself, in 2/19 IN. I enjoy being a drill sergeant a lot, helps I have some great coworkers for sure because the hours suck. I actually was supposed to be done in July as a drill, but due to COVID I was involuntarily extended 6 months so now I won’t be done until January. Wife was not happy.

Did you ever have the chance to go to Bamberg? It was amazing, I loved it. My wife is from there so I go back there normally at least once a year.

Never made it Bamberg. We barely had two days off a month at Hohenfels. Once the unit we were training did their 3 1/2 weeks and left, we had to start prepping for the next group coming in. One cool thing is that I did get to train against other soldiers from France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, England, and Italy along with U.S. units of course.

My ex-wife is from Germany, down near the Berchtesgaden area. She has basically kidnapped my son who lives over there with her. He'll be 16 in August and I haven't been able to see him in 5 years now. I'm supposed to have the whole month of August every year for visitation but she refuses to send him back to see me and I can't get any help from any government official here (or there. State or Federal). Was married to her for over 21 years and never realized how truly evil and hateful she is. Was supposed to make a surprise trip earlier this month but then COVID-19 decided to throw a wrench into those plans. Sometimes life sucks.....

Oh well, just gotta keep on, keepin' on.

Sadly I have heard that same story from more than a few guys who have had children with Germans and then gotten divorces.

German government definitely does Americans no favors in these situations.

No....they do not. They want me to pay the German rate for child support (which is higher than what my payment is here). Luckily, my divorce was put to paper here in the states, so that is that monthly payment that applies. Yet, when I attempt to contact them for help on MY end, I hit nothing but brick walls. Funny how that works....

I even contacted the State Department here, asking for help. They just told me to hire a lawyer. It's funny because as the father, I'm expected to follow the divorce decree down to the letter but his mother disregards everything in it with no consequences.

Anyway, enough about all that......sorry for temporarily hijacking the thread. Just needed to vent.
