The difference here is because of preferences and APs. I hope this shows everyone how important APs are in recruiting... and therefore how broken EEs are. For every EE, a team is penalized 440 EEs which is ridiculous. It would be a ridiculously easy fix for them to declare before RS1, since we have decided on in-season recruiting.

Florida is ahead despite spending ~60% of the AP Texas Tech invested, and having a much worse preference profile. The outcome of this battle is reasonably close to what I would want; I want it to go a bit in the other direction, actually. The result of this battle is about where I would want them to end up if they had spent about the same amount of AP, if I was the developer. The game definitely doesn’t need more AP from the high prestige schools altering the outcomes in battles like this.

Basically the game is coming to recruiting 5 stars so you have good backups then limiting their growth hard so you don't get screwed by EEs.

Since the release of 3.0, HD has been about choices; how much risk you want to take on, long term planning, optimizing development, or maximizing IQ and increasing odds for staying on campus; really are lots of choices to manage. Like the NFL, it kind of gets to be a copycat league, in that it feels like most people kind of fall in line behind the successful guys who figure out what works best first. And then someone figures out how to counter that, and then on and on it goes. Sure you can try to do it that way. Of course only a handful of guys in a world in a given season can get by with it. And at the end of the day, a lot of *other* guys are going to be fighting for championships, too. So....

Hey, not for nothing, Eastern Washington just won a championship, undefeated in Naismith, a few legit 5 Star types, and some non-5-Star types. Definitely my type of team, obviously except the boring motion-man part.

Can you see the recruiting effort put in by other coaches after signing?

No, you have to ask them.

When I have a battle I think is interesting and has something folks might learn from, when the battle is done, I ask the other coach if they might be interested in trading notes when recruiting is all done. These days I specify that I’m not going to send any information until I’m all done recruiting at the end of round 2 - but I’m asking now so all parties involved can gather notes, if needed. It should probably go without saying, but discussions about recruiting actions while coaches are still recruiting is potentially a fair play guidelines violation.
