Yes. When Alex Jones and Joe Rogan do a podcast together, it’s the most entertaining event of the year. Maybe some old farts listen to Alex “they’re turning the frickin frogs gay” Jones seriously, but for the most part, a vast majority of the people understand it’s a joke. And that’s why Rogan lets him rant uncontested. He understands the concept of content.
Even if I were to accept that the majority of people who might listen to Alex Jones on Rogan's podcast are just in it for the memes, there will still be large swaths of people in Rogan's massive audience that will buy into the rhetoric. That's dangerous.
And suppressing Alex Jones would only make his small fanbase that takes him seriously more radical and aggressive. Letting his theories being expressed and publicly ridiculed is a much better course of action than deplatforming him and giving these “they’re out to get him” types more wood for the fire
Um... Joe Rogan can't deplatform InfoWars. He can choose not to book Alex Jones. Do you know what deplatforming means?
As for your other comment, I acknowledge that. Joe Rogan's fanbase isn't as bad as some others. However, every time Jones goes on Rogan's podcast, I can't help but see that he gets substantial boosts on google trends searches. I don't think it's responsible to platform people like that, personally.
Even if his ideas are being publicly ridiculed, you need to be really careful in your presentation of him. It's an interesting topic, though. I don't think he's the best example because he is so loony.
