That guy could definitely make the HOF, in my opinion. If you used him as a closer on a competitive team, he could easily save 40-50 games a year, and he's still only 24. The problem is, with a guy like him, maximizing his value means using him in long relief, so you can get 120+ innings from him every year. That means he's unlikely to rack up gawdy - if meaningless - save numbers, which is what HOF voting is based on too often. When I vote for HOF, I generally dismiss saves for that reason.
I have a reliever who is in the top 10 in career WHIP in my league, but he'll never make the HOF. He's good enough. The one season I used him as my primary closer, he saved 49 games. But, he also pitched about 90 innings. With 40 stam and 99 dur, he's capable of pitching 120-150 IP every year, so 90 IP is a waste of his talent.
