Current thinking on Medical budgeting Topic

This is why I feel like makeup + medical budget should determine recovery and should even determine players gaining ratings over what they had pre-injury. It used to be like that and it made sense but the big thing I noticed is some guys with makeup 80+ never get back to their pre-injury ratings while some guys with makeup in the 50’s will get ratings above and beyond what they had previously.

I figure the real world example is you have guys who stick to their recovery regime, hit the gym, start physio as soon as they can and build up muscle they didn’t have before and they can’t wait to get back on the field. While meanwhile guys with <50 makeup sit on the couch and expect the torn whatever to heal itself.

What I do not see in this thread is any talk about the training budget. Many years ago when this "bug" was first discovered, I think the thought was you had to have $20M in BOTH medical AND training budgets to get the ratings boost. Anybody else remember this?

I wasn't part of the conversation back then but now that you say it, I always run 20/20 and I don't seem to have had the shortfalls others have complained of having.

I hate the fact that with 20/20 the majority of players do not even get back to pre injury form. Even if full recoveries are in the season.

That is another one I can’t answer. For years I had heard ‘20 training means your players won’t lose their ratings as fast, rookies will come closer to their projected ratings, players are less likely to get injured’ so I locked it in at 20 million years ago and never looked back.

It used to be that way. I really starting to believe it changed.

So, assuming this "ceiling" exists...

Was looking through old injury bug threads and came across this one. Really appreciate tlowster's posts on these topics, been a huge help.

Regarding the quote above - true ceilings do exist. There used to be a bug that let you see true ratings in any league you weren't an owner in. I sent in a ticket to have it fixed given the potential to exploit for DITR and prospect trades.

This is also the way I found out $20M scouting gets you an accuracy of within +/-10 points of the player's true ceiling

Hi there! I think I may have found a bug.

Was doing some player comps against players in leagues I'm NOT in to get more data points. Noticed you could view projected ratings on the 40-man page (World ->Reports -> Team 40-Man). But what is the system using for these ratings since I'm not in this league and don't have an advanced scouting budget? It looks to me like the these projections could be their bonafide ceilings (for anyone under 27, for 27+ y/o's projected = current). No wildly outlandish projections like you see with low advanced budgets. Lots of 24, 25, 26 y/o's a few points away from their projections. DITR page looks to be the only other one page that shows projected ratings to outside viewers.

So I'm fairly certain if players want to know the true ceilings of your their guys (that are on your 40-man) and the DITR's, they can find out using a second account.

Hi Brian,

Can you please provide the steps you took to view these ratings?

Thank you!

Sure, it only works when viewing leagues in which I'm not already an owner in. If I go to the homepage of the league I'm not in, I can then navigate to either the Team 40-man Roster page or the page that lists all the Diamonds in the Rough.

I can do this by going to the bottom of the league's homepage and clicking on any of the quick links ("Standings", "Schedule", "Playoffs", etc.). This brings me to that respective page where I can then access the "World" dropdown menu. Select "Reports" and then either "Team 40-man Roster" or "Diamonds in the Rough".

Once I'm on either of those two pages, I can change the view to "Projected Ratings". I'm fairly certain these projected ratings I'm seeing are the true player ceilings.

Hopefully that explanation makes sense.
