Yeah, basically what I started doing was plan out my minor leagues before the season ends. Make sure every spot is filled by one of three players:
1. Actual Prospect
2. Great DITR candidate
3. Non Prospect & Non DITR eligible
Anybody else would get cut. Any gaps I had I will fill in free agency with guys 25 and above. It’s a little tedious for sure, but I actually think it really improved my minor leagues as a whole. I also Invest heavily in the draft and acquiring players who will give me draft compensation (my next draft I have 4 Type A Picks), so that helps give me a good amount of depth to where I don’t have to sign as many free agents.
An alternate route is deactivating guys who are DITR eligible but not good candidates. Do this prior to the DITR day. You just have to make sure you have enough of the three guys listed above to where you can leave 20 active and not have any bad candidates active.
This makes sense now.
Personally I have been stockpiling more of #2 type of player than #3.
Therefore I am left to Deactivate the really bad DITR candidates (Age, OVR Projection)
Before reading this thread I was under the impression this would help increase DITRs.
I have had some cases where I get 3, mostly 1/2. Never had a 0 case though.
