Update on this.
I'm in a World that has a specific time period where ideas can be communicated regarding World rule alterations. I'm in nine Worlds and this one is the most open and willing to at least vote on new ideas.
I decided to take the above idea that brianplath suggested and bring it to the World Chat discussion during the appropriate time period. I tried a few iterations of the suggestion, but we ultimately voted on the one below.
Implementation of a three person Trade Commission where any of the three members of the trade commission can announce trades transacted between 1. Two owners that have career winning percentage differences of .075 ; or 2. Any trade transacted where an owner involved has under 5 seasons of HBD experience.
It did not prohibit trades. All it did is give a member of the trade commission the ability/responsibility to announce certain trades on world chat. The idea/hope was that certain trades would be announced and if they were truly bad trades that should get vetoed, there would be enough eyes on it to get the veto. The downfalls to an idea like this are 1. False positives -- there will likely be more trades transacted that are fine, but get announced on world chat than there are trades that are terrible and get announced; 2. If the trade commission misses one that is terrible, do others pick up the slack or does having a trade commission make others even more lax than normal when it comes to reviewing trades?
The vote on this was not even close. Nobody was interested in implementation.
So, I know this is just one World, but based on the responses that i received in this World, there was absolutely no appetite for something like this.
